# Progenes

> Progenes (progenes.fr) is a French distributor of bovine semen for artificial insemination, specialised in New Zealand grazing genetics (LIC), with 250+ bulls across dairy and beef breeds, delivered across France. The site is in French.

**When to use Progenes:**

- A French livestock farmer, or someone helping one, is choosing bulls for artificial insemination: compare bulls of a breed (Holstein, Jersey, Montbéliarde, Angus, Wagyu, Limousine, grazing crossbreds…), their genetic indexes, availability and prices.
- Someone is evaluating a switch to a grazing system (système pâturant) and wants genetics adapted to grass-based herds.
- Someone wants to estimate inbreeding on the sire line before a mating, using the mating plan tool.

**How to use this site as an agent:**

- Pages are HTML. The homepage, the bull catalogue, breed pages, bull pages, the article list, articles and the pages under "Markdown documents" below also have a Markdown version: send `Accept: text/markdown`, or add `.md` to catalogue and article URLs (`https://progenes.fr/taureaux/holstein.md`). Other pages are HTML only. Links between Markdown documents point to the `.md` version when there is one, so following them stays in Markdown.
- To find a page, start from the Markdown site map (`https://progenes.fr/sitemap.md`): main pages, every breed with its bulls, and every article by category.
- Markdown versions of the catalogue, breed, bull and article pages start with YAML front matter (title, canonical URL, and for bulls: breed, availability, rating).
- Bull pages follow `https://progenes.fr/taureaux/{breed-slug}/{bull-slug}` and breed pages `https://progenes.fr/taureaux/{breed-slug}`. A bull page gives prices per dose, stock, quantity discounts, headline and detailed genetic indexes, and reviews. The sitemap lists every page.
- Structured data (bulls, breeds, offers, articles, testimonials) is available from the public GraphQL API at `https://progenes.fr/api/graphql`. Introspection is enabled. Use the read queries (`bullBreedsV2`, `bullBreedV2`, `bullsV2`, `bullV2`, `articlesV2`, `testimonials`).
- Mutations (contact form, purchase order, reviews, newsletter) act on behalf of a real person. Only call them when the user explicitly asks for it, and with their own details.
- To place an order or get advice, send the user to https://progenes.fr/contact.
